About Us

Black Sea Research Fund is a non-profit organization dedicated to advanced oceanographic and archaeological investigation of the Black Sea Shelf. 

Our mission focuses on studying the complex geological and hydrological history of this unique marine environment through state of the art technology and scientific fieldwork. BSRF brings together experts in marine archaeology, oceanography, and geological sciences to examine environmental changes that occurred approximately 7,000 years ago and their potential impact on early European settlements and civilizations, as well as contemporary challenges in the Black Sea. By employing innovative marine engineering technology, we aim to resolve ongoing scientific debates about the chronological sequence and scale of major hydrological events that have shaped this critical waterway. Our work contributes to broader understanding of the Black Sea's rich maritime heritage and geological significance.
